“…I’ve been to Paris, but they haven’t.”

This resonated when I read it. Not sure if what I take away from it is what you meant. Reminds me of the song For my Lover by Tracy Chapman.

I read about this earlier and was saddened. I am glad you have taken time to acknowledge her greatness and impact on the modeling community. People.com didn’t even say one word about her passing… hopefully they will pick it up. xo

I started reading this post when you initially posted and for some reason or another got side tracked and didnt finish. Having finshed now it is pretty interesting that I have been having conversations on the topic of humility rather often of late. There is nothing more humbling then failure. I think especially with the high percentage of lay offs downsizing and overall overhaul of many peoples lives America and the world has entered into a dawn of a new era where work ethic and excellence is your only sunblock. There are fewer and fewer trees to sit beneath and catch some proverbial zzzz’s. Concurrently theres a lot more exposure and either you are or you arent nowadays. Im almost certain that means more of us will begin to fulfill our potential for greatness.

wow. it seems that Murray was yet another one of Jackson’s enablers and the worst happened on his watch. However, especially as a Dr., Murray’s behavior is inexcusable.

Pelosi was visibly pissed off after that. She looked like she was ready to fight somebody. Wilson released an apology not long after the speech but he just gave the whole country a glimpse of the true colors of the many on the conservative side. Not that those colors were well hidden to begin with.

That is good good. sometimes at my desk when I cross my arms; hands under armpits; stack my feet at the end of my outstretched legs, and close my lids, I drift away, and in that distance I can briefly remember the purpose of life.

It was a good interview. Whitney looked good too. For a long time the turmoil in her private life (drugs, fame crazy, and most of all Bobby Brown) showed in her appearance. You could see it in her face, her weight, and the way she spoke. She just didn’t look right but now she looks healthier and stronger.

SMH, baby girl is O for 2. I’m loving this and as a man it’s somewhat refreshing to see her put her foot all the way in her mouth like that, but knowing you Q, this is just the setup for a Jordan-esque type of 4th quarter, playoff comeback. I’m patiently waiting for more (don’t make me bang my knife and fork on the table)!

1100 people died from 2 earthquakes in as many days in Indonesia and it effects me only minimally but if one person close to me were to die I would be torn apart. That may be a good topic.

It is so hard to adopt a child and too easy to have one on your own. Great topic.

  • #42 written by Kandou

I hope this isn’t too deep for a first topic, but after having a few conversations with victims & people that know victims, I have a huge problem with the fact that many young women are victims of sexual abuse by people close to them, a lot of the time family, and they don’t come forward. I unserstand that the pressures against them are plenty and sometimes they come forward against resentment from the people that are supposed to be protecting them… so the question/topic is, Why aren’t we more supportive of our young women? Don’t people know that the trauma of a childhood event(s) lasts a lifetime. Men, have you ever asked “damn, why does she act like that?” Sometimes there is an answer that you aren’t ready for. I’m very close to many, yes many women who were victims of sexual abuse from family and as a father, I’ll be damned if I don’t end up in a cell if anyone even contemplates touching my daughter. Hope I didn’t go in too much. Luv Ya Cyu!!!

It’s been said that a mother’s love for her child is the strongest love there is. Or as put by my defensive driving instructor, “a child could steal from his mother and she would still feed him”. From what I have seen, this kind of love benefits neither child nor mother.

I wanted to beat his momma for you. And that is not a good thing… tamp down her stankness a little, it seemed to come out of nowhere… did Darren have time to tell her all their business while Donna was getting dressed? I say leave the Terrence/Tracey thing to simmer and introduce some more subtle stankness on the part of moms. Save the big blow up for later :)
