This is beautiful! I think we all have our own “sharp chins”–I know I have a few!–that we have yet to come to terms with, and this post goes a long way in that process. Thanks!

I can’t so much say I liked or disliked this piece because it spoke to me and didn’t ask for my approval or affirmation. Its a window into me I’m not sure I should be looking through. Aren’t we all traveling at least some part of our lives close to the bannister for fear of feeling that same pain. so honest and scary a view into the life of a sufferer that I immediately need to see more and would for fear of premature dismissal dare not make a sound as I stare through this window pain.

Wow Q, I have so much to say yet feel compelled not to for fear of dishonoring the emotion poured into that piece. You know, I know, so indeed there are no more words that need be written.

WOW! I don’t always like Kieth Olbermann’s style but when certain things need to be said, no one says it as well as he can. Wow.

How poignant. You captured that hazy/dreamtime magical time that is 3 am, the hour all the answers come. And I was left curious—what of the mother? The lovers? Even the neighbor. More! I welcome more!

While I do agree with the broader message that you have put forth in this entry, in fact whole heartedly, I must beg to differ with one of your resolves. We are not born alone and if we are lucky we don’t die alone; we are born without. To say we are born alone suggests we are independent of others and without need even at our most vulnerable state. We are continuously in need and furthermore in need of being needed. I do agree that we are born free and without things, and it is these things that constrict us as we grow into them, allowing them to be the shapes in which we mold ourselves to. But these are just symantics I’m sure. Just wanted to let you know someone out here is actively listening to the spirit you pour onto these pages in hopes of finding commonalities in this weird world.

Well said. I love the quote, “When you know better, you do better.” But I always prefer to say, “When you know you know better, you do better.”

Gotta admit i’m feeling lil’ man’s flow. He sounds polished for his age. “I”m a son of a king so why would i ever bow down?” That’s a hard line, lol.

I read in the paper he just got signed.

True true. You know I was just thinking this morning about how much I used to draw when I was young but as I grew older I dispelled it as being my older brothers thing: a consequence of coming from a large family, everyone has his compartment deemed monopolized and off limits to anyone else. A sad misconception among syblings. and one day my dad said why don’t you draw anymore you had such a great hand when you were younger. Unfortunately I have still yet to pick up the pen but maybe soon.

Liked this post in oh so many ways. Starting with, “left-handed people are brilliant without even trying”.
I’m sure you can guess why.

And it tickled me mucho when I read, “maria is also a liar.” So perfectly placed. I’m still chuckling.
